Is Your Home Insured for What It Would Actually Cost to Rebuild?

Rebuilding costs have climbed faster than most policies have been updated. As an independent agency, we compare homeowners coverage from multiple top-rated carriers and make sure your dwelling limit, deductibles, and liability protection reflect what your home is worth today.

Homeowners Insurance

What homeowners insurance covers.

Your structure, your belongings, your liability, and your living expenses.

Dwelling Coverage

Rebuild or repair your home's structure after a covered loss like fire, wind, or hail.

Personal Property

Furniture, electronics, clothing, and belongings — at home and often away from it.

Personal Liability

Legal defense and damages if someone is injured on your property or you damage theirs.

Loss of Use

Hotel, rent, and additional living expenses while your home is uninhabitable.

Other Structures

Detached garages, fences, sheds, and pools on your property.

Scheduled Valuables

Jewelry, art, and collectibles insured above standard sublimits.

Replacement cost matters. Actual cash value settlements deduct depreciation. We check that your dwelling and contents are written on replacement cost wherever the carrier allows.

FAQ

Homeowners insurance questions we hear most.

How much dwelling coverage do I need?

Enough to rebuild your home at today's construction costs — not its market value or what you paid. We run a replacement cost estimate as part of every review.

Does homeowners insurance cover flood?

No. Flood is excluded from standard homeowners policies and requires a separate flood policy, which we can quote whether or not you're in a mapped flood zone.

Should I raise my deductible?

Often yes. Moving from $500 to $1,000 or $2,500 can meaningfully reduce premium if you'd never file a small claim anyway. We'll show the actual savings side by side.

Are jewelry and valuables fully covered?

Standard policies cap categories like jewelry, firearms, and cash at low sublimits. Scheduling high-value items adds broader coverage, often including mysterious disappearance.

Will filing a claim raise my rate?

It can, and claim history follows you between carriers. For small losses near your deductible it's often better to pay out of pocket — we'll talk it through before you file.
